Heroes of Newerth

Game On!

Matrix Gamers should start registering on the Alienware Arena website for the “LAN Conference” of the Open Division. http://www.alienwarearena.com/event/linksys-hon/

Overview
The Matrix is proud to offer the Linksys FTW: Heroes of Newerth Launch Tournament, sponsored by Linksys and Alienware with official support from the publisher S2 Games.

Matrix Gamers can form teams to compete against teams located at other centers across the United States and Canada. The top teams will advance to play alongside online teams for a chance to win a share of $1,250.00 USD in cash prizes.

Format
Heroes of Newerth (PC)
Teams: 5 vs. 5
Map: Forests of Caldavar
Mode: Banning Pick

Schedule
Gamer Registration: May 11 – June 6

Each Wednesday evening during the Preliminary Phase, teams must show up to your center by 7:00 p.m. Central Time. They will be assigned matches to play that night, to begin at 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Central Time.

Match 1 & 2: Wednesday, June 9
Match 3 & 4: Wednesday, June 16
Match 5 & 6: Wednesday, June 23
Match 7: Wednesday, June 30

The top 8 teams from the LAN Center Preliminary will advance to the Playoffs to compete in a subsequent 32 slot double-elimination bracket (alongside the top 24 teams from the online division). These matches will be scheduled with each respective opponent and must be completed by each Tuesday and Thursday, from July 12 to August 19.

Matchmaking
Matchmaking and score reporting will be handled directly through the Alienware Arena website and by iGames and CEVO staff. LAN center staff are only responsible for verifying that teams have showed up and the systems are adequately setup for gamers to use. No additional management of matches is required at all by LAN center staff!

To facilitate this process, LAN centers must install a simple matchmaking and chat client on each system that gamers will login to using their Alienware Arena username and password.

Prizes
The top 4 overall placing teams from the Playoffs will split a $1,250.00 USD cash prize pool.

1st – $500.00 USD
2nd – $375.00 USD
3rd – $250.00 USD
4th – $125.00 USD
